Because eco-innovation is relevant to the sustainability of the global community and its economy. Reducing environmental risk, pollution and other negative impacts of resources use – including energy use – is an issue that the international community has addressed as an imperative action in the pursue of sustainable development and mitigation of Climate Change.

 

For business, eco-innovation is more than a chance to improve corporate image, it is a real tool to improve and sustain competitiveness and create value in the global economy. Existent and future environmental regulations impose a considerable challenge to businesses. Eco-innovation can effectively help firms to tackle environmental and economic constrains without loosing competitiveness.
