In the GNNC project, we look at the possibility of promoting and developing eco-innovations in the construction sector as a considerable step forward towards sustainability. Nanotechnologies are at the core of our vision of technology-driven solutions for this goal. However, we believe that greater sustainability demands innovative solutions at all organizational levels and at each step of a product’s life cycle.

 

The construction sector is a prominent economic actor but it also involves activities that account for a considerable production of greenhouse gases, wastes, and water and energy consumption. Bringing greater eco-efficiency to the construction sector can lead to important gains in CO2 emission’s reductions and ultimately, in the overall sustainability.
