Science

The Øresund region has nanotechnological research at international standards. As a whole, Øresund has a very solid base of research and development in nanotechnology in Scandinavia, Europe and also in the world. Nanoscience and nanotechnology research in the region is carried out at three universities and one research centre.

Lund University - the Nanometre Structure Consortium
University of Copenhagen - Nano-Science Centre
Technical University of Denmark - Nano●DTU

Øresund Science Region

Scientific measures

In comparison with other Nordic regions, Øresund is the leading region within nanotechnological research. This is clearly noted in the Nano Øresund report - Øresund - the Nordic Nanohub (June 2006). In the report, output of research has been studied, i.e. publication of research results. In this area, Øresund is at the top with the highest number of scientific reports (see figure 1). Even in terms of the impact of research, Øresund is at the top; the number of citations per article is largest in Øresund.
